Many are Cold but Few are FROZEN!

This weekend was an exciting weekend not only for the Mercyhurst family but also for all of Erie. Mercyhurst hosted this year's "Frozen Four" - the final four tournament of NCAA Division I Women's Ice Hockey here in Erie at the Tullio Arena.
Mercyhurst's team was unfortunately eliminated in the round prior to the Frozen Four. This was a tough loss for the team and the community and we all wished they could have been in the tournament.
The Athletic Department called on the Ambassador Club to work at the Frozen Four! We had a big meeting earlier in the week and they said to us that although we are upset that our team is not in the tournament, Mercyhurst will still be represented at the Frozen Four, and the Ambassadors would take part in that!
A bunch of us worked the 2 semi-final games on Friday evening and then the championship game earlier today. We were given official name tags that allowed us into the VIP areas!
A lot of Mercyhurst students were at the games because our student government (MSG) purchased tickets for students and then sold them at a reduced price!

Here's a picture of the rink before everyone arrived for the game!
Can you believe that in two months from now that ice won't even be there and our senior graduates will be sitting there at Mercyhurst's 2011 graduation ceremony?!

Speaking of MSG, this upcoming week begins campaigning for MSG elections! My friend and future roommate, Sarah (she is a blogger too, check out her site @ sarahmercyhurst.blogspot.com) is running for Secretary! She created a facebook page to advertise her platform and she will be hanging up signs all over campus! Good luck to Sarah, she surely has my vote!

Have a great week! Let's keep this warm weather coming!
